Simple White Cake

1 cup white sugar

½ cup unsalted butter

Two large eggs

2 tsp. vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

One ¾ tsp. baking powder

½ cup milk



The oven should be preheated to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare a 9-inch square cake pan with oil and flour.

Butter and sugar are combined in a mixing basin. One at a time, beat the eggs while adding them, pausing. Combine vanilla.

In another basin, mix the baking powder and flour. Mix thoroughly after adding to the wet components. Stir in the milk until smooth. Fill the prepared cake pan with the batter.

Bake in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the top springs back when lightly touched.

Remove from the oven, then allow to cool fully.
